90 yj engine swap

k my brother has been doing this swap for almost a year haven't found any help on it. he got a 85 4.0 out of a non high output Cherokee into his 2.5 wrangler just need engine wiring done, not sure if anyone has done this not sure why you would but hes trying so please help

Do either of you have a meter to do measurements? Do you have the wiring setup to look at from the 85? What help do you need? Make sure you get the bulkhead connector wired up correctly, especially the ignition and starter.

Was up at Burt Lake a few weeks ago playing with a Liberty from work and 2 friends JK's. Lots of fun.

I'm pretty sure that the 4.0 was not around in 1985.

It was in the XJ. It was a Renix setup.

So what is the hangup with the swap? I have a great site for you to get info on the Renix cherokee manuals. The forum always kills the post so PM me your email and I will get you the link. Do you have the manual from the 85 or the 90?
