90 Sahara Build

I've been on the forum for a while now and figured i should post up my build finally. I've owned the jeep for about a year now. Though it's been in my family for the past 9 years, my dad owned it before me. It started off as a completly stock sahara with the carbed 258 and 3 speed auto. Gone is the carb replaced with an Affordable fuel injection TBI kit. Sadly the 3 speed is still there. Over the years it got a sunrider soft top, bestop aqua seats, carpet ripped out, xenon fender flares, 31" bfg at's, a congo cage and yakima basket which has since found there way to the basement(won't fit in the garage with it and i have no need for them) and a few odds and ends.

Since it's been in my possesion i've added a 2.5" rubicon express lift, new head unit(still had the original cassett player and speakers), rear 6X9" speakers, i mounted my high lift jack behind the rear seat, moved the KC's from the bumper to the windshield, and actually made the thing reliable, which included a tune up, new thermostate, fixed the heat, and a/c, as well as other odds and ends that were neglected because my dad used it as a summer/weekend only toy so things got over looked quite often. Over all it's been quite the first vehicle, i bought it off him when i was 16, had been working on it since i was 8.

Future plans are:

D!ck cepek DC-1's
32" or 33" KM2's (depending on if i can fit 33"s with 3" of lift and tj flares)
1/2" lift shackles
Rhino liner
And a two toned hood.
Neww front bumper
Winch (thinking along the lines of a smitty built, either the 8000 or the 10,000)

What it looked like when i bought it

What it looks like now

racks in the basment, and the yakima basket is hanging from the wall in the garage. I use it when i have to transport my dads kayak as well as mine, it also made it a pain to to take the soft top down, and was cutting my gas mileage even more

And its not tan......it's khaki green

I think I've seen your Jeep before.
Why are you wantin new shackles? It looks like you have some good ones on there already.
Or are you just wanting the added height?

yeah i just want the added hight, quad didn't stock m.o.r.e boom's and the regular 1/2" lift ones where like twice the price of the ones i got so i just went with them. There greaseable too. i just want the added hight of the ones you make.

And i live in Canton, MI have a friend that lives out and taylor but thats about the farthest east i go.

Ah yea I could see it being a pain for taking off the soft top. If it were me i'd ditch it in the winter since you don't usually take the top off (well not here in colorad) and run a safari top with the rack in the summer

yeah i've thought about doing that, but then it doesn't fit in the garage, i spent like 2 days reorganizing my parents garage so that i could fit my jeep into it, i plan on taking full advantage of that

i'm tossing around the idea of rubber undercoating the inside of my jeep, i saw a picture of someone who did it and it looked like it turned out good. A friend of mine rhino lined the inside of his jeep and some of the particles or what ever they are are kinds sharp and if you rub you knee the wrong way it'll get cut up, and one have some input?

Rhino or rubberized under coat?
