Couldn't get it started today. Played with the carb all day. It's the inline six with a remanufactured carter carb on it right now. My friend and I monkeyed with it all day but we didn't get anything out of it. We tore it down and cleaned it out. I think the next thing up is a fuel pump. We played with it all day and tried everything we knew. We asked my dad and he was still scratchin his head about it at dinner.
Any advice?

Well that didn't do much. I got it installed right and tried to crank it up. Ran ok for like 10 seconds then cut out. Maybe more like twenty. Let it set for a while and it did it again. Took the carb off and did a lot of adjustments. The floats were set really low and some other stuff. Put it back together and still nothing. I asked my dad and he can't think of anything else.

HELP.

I'm hoping to be getting around to the motor install eventually and want to know what you guys think of motor mounts? What would be the advantages of going with new ones versus reusing the old ones?

No. AX-5. From what I've read they're pretty similar. Thats what I thought when the guy said he had an AX-5. It came out of a rollover cherokee so correct me if I'm wrong but I was told that this one was an AX-5 not the -15. Maybe I just forgot a one but I googled it and the AX-5 does exist.

ax-5 is normally behind the 4 cylinder and the ax-15 is behind the 6 cylinder.

yeah. the color is a pretty interesting story. we went and picked it up based on a paint chip and when we got home and looked at it on a test stick we decided it was way too light, so we went back and asked them if it had a similar mix ratio to a darker green color and they said that they couldn't remix it but they gave us two small cans of black and told us to pour both cans of green into a big bucket and start mixing in black until it was dark enough for us. We poured in both of the pints and called it good enough. We started spraying around 1130 and ended at +-0300 the next day.

Someone correct me if Im wrong, but Im pretty damn sure a AX-5 behind the 4.0L will tear up your tranny. Need to find a AX-15 if thats the case!
