Here is what I suggest to everyone with a TBI swap going on.
Go here and click on "manual"
http://www.painlessperformance.com/w...1&submit=Go%21

Download the manual for part number 60101 and see if the wires match what you have. The Painless harness is supposed to be the same colors for the vast majority of TBI harness'.
That manual is a step by step instruction sheet for making your rig run with TBI. It wont tell you how to hook it all up to the Jeep, but that is pretty self explanatory IMHO. Don't do what most do, and over think the hell out of it. Most make it a LOT more complicated than what it actually is
James just did the victory dance not too long ago, so his is probably the freshest mind on here right not

I actually printed that out a while ago, but the colors didnt match my wires.. I, like a lot of self engineers, hate to ask for help but this time I really need it. With the exception of the tranny / tcase work, I've done all of this swap myself. I'm sure you know how it feels to get 99% of the way there only to have the damn ignition wiring stump you.. ;-)

Follow this to a tee and it will run, 12v on to the spots marked, battery to the others. I didn't use any wiring except the TBI harness, just splice into the Jeep harness for the key on power. I tried to get around using the relays in the lower left of the diagram with no success, use the relays.

There is a thread on binder planet that shows you how to cut down the harness. I had to put the harness in and out a couple times to get it right.

Been there and done it mate, and never feel bad for asking for help. Thats what we are here for
IIRC there is a main wire for the Chevy ECM that needs to be hot in order for the engine to run. Normally it makes the injectors not fire, but I guess it could do the ignition too.
Run that wire to the battery for testing purposes.
What I told James, is to run the 12v wires from the Chevy ECM to relays. That ensures there is enough juice to make it run right. Separate relays for each circuit, but relays that get a decent amount of juice from the fuse box (10 amp fuses).
You run into potential issues when trying to use the Jeep live wires for the Chevy ECM. When probing for 12volts at the firewall, you have no way of telling if those wires actually fed something, or just triggered a relay that was capable of supplying some amps with the volts. Normally they fed relays that did the work.

leftlanetruckin... you speak the truth. That could be my problem exactly. Voltage is good, but not enough amps to drive the coil and everything else.. I feel like I'm in a 12 step program, and I'm on Step 11..

Well, you are nearly there then aren't you!
I always suggest running the live wires to the battery for testing, saves a lot of potential headaches and alcohol consumption that way
Grab a few relays from the parts store, the ones with a mounting bracket built into them. Run them to a known good fused circuit and then use those to power the ECM.

Sit Rep....

I hard wired everything and low and behold, spark! But still no fire. Fuel pump is running with the key on, but no spray. I poured gas down the TB and she fired and ran for 5 seconds, then quit...

Thoughts?
