89 wrangler engine issue
ok guys so i have a 89 jeep wrangler with the 2.5 it came with the tbi and the motor is blown now i no this may sound stupid but if i stripped the engine from a 91 wrangler with mpi and stripepd it and put the tbi manifold on the engine block do u think it would run at all and if so run right
ne help taken and would be greatly appericiated

i am in no way qualified to give you an honest correct answer...
but the motors from YJ's were all made by AMC..if i am remembering correctly, and so it may be possible to make that swap. no idea how it would run. sorry if it's no help.

Yeah that will work as the basic engine is the same for all 2.5's
Fuel delivery and engine management changed but the engine itself is basically unchanged except for some bolt size changes on the head bolts but that won't affect you. Quote:
