89 wrangler - Does it have engine codes?

I have an 89 wrangler with a TBI 2.5l - There is no check engine light on the dash... Does the computer store trouble codes on this jeep? If so, how do I retrieve them, and decode them? Thanks for the help!

Sorry, no codes before '91. There is a test port next to the battery where you can check voltages of various components with a meter.

Are you having problems with something? It's a pretty simple system once you get into it, and most of the sensors (what few there are) can be tested with a cheap multi-meter.
