89 Jeep Sahara losses Rpms while driving

Hey everyone, Im having trouble with my 1989 Jeep Wrangler. The issue is this Ill be driving down the road and ill loss power ( I can press the gas but Rpms wont go up) the Jeep does not die, but i cant accelerate. I usually pull over turn it off wait 1 min turn it back on and im good to go for a little bit. I've replaced the fuel filter. I thought it was not receiving gas and thats why it was cutting out, but my fuel pump is fine i believe. I still think it maybe fuel related, but what do you guys think? one of my friends said the filter by my gas tank needs replaced, but im not sure what that part is to order it.

I was also reading up and maybe it can be an electrical thing, if you guys can give me some specifics I'd be very happy

other specs: 4.2 liter 6 cylinder 5 speed manual

Vacuum is high at idle and low when you step on it. So it wouldn't be collapsing while accelerating.

When was your last tune up?
Any fuel economy changes lately?
Have you tested the fuel pressure yet?

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.

Unless I am blind, there isn't a fuel filter by your tank unless a PO added one. The only one I could find on my Jeep is in the engine bay right before the carb. Cost about 8 bucks at Napa. Easy, cheap insurance.

Adopt your pets. Don't shop for them.

start it up pull the vacume line off the carb that goes to the distributor and suck on it if rpm's should increase if they don't it's the vacume advance in the distributor and yes it will leave a bad taste in your mouth
