89 Cherokee 4.2 to replace my 89 YJ 4.0 questions

Good morning all,

I recently came across a deal that I think at the time I couldn't pass up.

I found a 89 cherokee that was getting parted out and the owner was selling the complete 4.0 and all of the accessories for $400.00. I figured that the acessories alone would be a good deal at that price.

Now that I have it, I also have what I believe is the complete wiring harness, although the previous owner cut it to get the engine out. The FI is intact as well as exhaust manifold. I also have the ecm.

Now, I understand that this is not the HO verion of the engine but since my 4.2 is shot and needs to be rebuilt, did I make the correct investment on this 4.0?

I'm just looking for some guidence from those that are more experienced than I.

Thanks,

Chris

Search the YJ section. One of the Mods did a 4.0 RENIX swap and did a writeup with it. You got an OK deal but its gonna be a bit different than a 4.0 swap.

Ok found it for ya, Big-N-Broke-YJ did it.
