88 Wrangler LED Dash Upgrade.

Well i've been very busy doing my thing like enlisting into the corps and all, but I decided I wanna get as much as I can done to my jeep before I ship out.

Anyways, ive reviewed the posts and threads about the LED dash upgrade for yj's, shoutout to UltimatE and Mistic for the great writeups. however ive been trying to figure out if i need to buy the 5led #194 bulbs with 360 degree, or the single W-Led. I'd buy the 360 degree but the difference is about 5 bucks a bulb.

My jeep is an 88, so the lights arent behind the gauge faceplate, they are the surrounding lights, and I fear if I get the single led bulbs, they wont be bright enough. also I checked out the bulbs on the instrument panel and the only numbers I saw were 161, not 194. could anyone shed some light on my siuation? thanks

Hey YJGrunt,

I just did the 5 led swap on my 89 and the lights are perfect. I also did the blue/red combo on the Tach. That is the only spot where the blue is not bright enough. If you can, swap out your turn signals (size 74) with the white LEDs. Makes a nice difference.

Good luck on your tour of duty.

I think you will like it. When I put 'em in, shut the garage door and turned on the lights I thought uh-oh, not bright enough. When it was actually dark outside they were the perfect intensity. Good luck.
