88 Renix 4.0 Into 95 2.5 YJ?

Having trouble with wiring. All I am finding is newer engines going into older jeeps. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Why would you do this? To swap in a current 4.0l you add 2 injector wires and extend the temp sensor. Swap in an ecu from a 4.0L and you are off tothe races. The earlier renix engines require a bit of adjusting for the sensors. If you are looking for info then use google search like this:

You can't find any info because people generally do not go backwards from a FI 95 to a Renix system. Peolpe consider the Renix system to be problematic in a stock vehicle much less a swap. I would highly recommend ditching the Renix system and upgrading to a modern FI system now.

I had a remix cherokee and never had a problem that was any worse then a normal vehicle. If you dont know how to use a multimeter, dont do it. I have thought about this swap too, if I had a donor.

I don't feel like working on anything at this time so i sold my yj.

You can use the block and just get the fuel injection stuff if the block is low miles. I am just leary of the renix if you are not very well versed with a meter and you dont understand the potential issues.

I too am getting ready to do this swap, I got a 89 Comanche cheep running with renix 4.0 the truck exploded the transfer case.
And my 2.5 is blown. My thoughts are putting the 4.0 block in my 95 yj and swapping the head and intake to something newer maybe
off an 95 to make it more like it was stock.

use the block and all, but find the wiring and such from the 95 like you said...

Unless that 4.0 donor is CHEAP... it may pay ya to look for a complete cherokee from 91 and newer or 95 if want to keep smog legal.
Cause then you can use a lot of parts and sell off the rest..
Start you a new thread and let us know what you doing and we help... We are not like some forums that dog you out for asking the same thing that has be answered all over the net... Cause things change and new ideas come up..
But if I was doing it.. A cherokee that is complete is only way I would try it... Or just get a dodge truck or suv with V8 and do it right..
