88 5 Speed - Tranny Not Engaging After Clutch install (no clutch need to shift)

First off I know I messed somthing up

What I did - Replace the clutch and related (slave, pressure plate, clutch disk, pilot bearing) and replaced the transfer-case with a new to me

Issue: I can shift with jeep running without pressing in the clutch. And I am unable to drive forward/reverse (even if I shift with clutch)

Soo any suggestions on what I could have messed up?

The master was replaced before the slave. if it wasnt bleed all the way, would that cause the no power to the tranny? It confuses me as to how I can have the engine running and not have to press the clutch in to shift between the gears, and even more so that when I shift nothing happens

I did. I put it in 2h 4h and 4l, I got nothin. could the transfer case be bad? I was under the impression that if the transfer-case was bad i just wouldnt have any power to the wheels, it sounds to me like the issue is someplace in the tranny or just before it.

could it be an issue with the clutch disc or the pressure plate?

Did you put the pressure plate in the correct way? It is stamped or marked on the side that should be facing toward the tranny.

I took it all apart again. and it turns out the new to me t-case is busted... so I put my old one back on.

Now I cant shift though... It feels like I am 1/2 in neutral (i can only move a little sideways) and I can not move between the gears now, not even a budge. Any ideas on what would cause a once fully functional shifter to not work? It worked before I took off the transmission and replaced the t-case (which was working, only swapped because it was older), put it back together and then no shifter.

Eh don't worry about the shifter retainer clips... I drove my BA10/5 for a few months without it. I could rip it out of the transmission while driving
