i don;t think mine gets that hot. you can definitely feel it but not through shoes. i think adding a heat shield under the jeep is the best choice though

Do you guys know of a site to get a new skid plate? I only ever find them for the oil pan and gas tank everywhere I look.

Protecting where the Cat is, so basically the mid section.

isn;t that the plate under the t-case and trans? or are you wanting another one, besides that one?

I want to replace it... mine has rust and branches that have popped up on trails poked holes through it. Haha.. And it may be that... I'm not sure where/what a t-case looks like or would be. Still learning stuff :P

When you lay under he jeep, ther is a big plate running across from he passenger side to the diver's side of he frame. Hat is your t-case/trans crossmember(skid plate). It protects your t-case and transmission end from rocks and supports the trans/t-case as the mounts are on top of it. No branches could poke holes in it, it is solid. Check all the aftermarket manufacturers and parts mags for skid plates though because people do make different ones

This is your t-case. The part sticking out with the red seal is where your rear drive shaft hooks up. The other side is sure the trans hooks up and the left off set is where the front drive shaft hooks up

The red/silver tag tells you which t-case model you have and the black plug in front of the tag is where your vacuum lines hook up that go to the front driveshaft vacuum connect and engine vacuum lines hook up

Yeah, I found out it was the crossmember.... as I took it off and the t-case started coming down... I have a jack holding it up now.. theres no way that skidplate is going back up there, it was just getting holes from being so rusted, I'm trying to find a new one now... the motors torqued back and everything, seems like it'll be fun trying to put the new one on when I find one.
