88 2.5l Oil In Airbox?

My girlfriends 88 yj with the 2.5 has a great deal of oil in the airbox. I replaced the pcv valve on the valve cover and installed a new air filter and cleaned the airbox on sunday. Today there is enough oil in there that it is leaking out on the ground. Any advice will be helpfull. thank you

Check the vaccuum hoses going too and coming from the engine, specifically on the intake. One of them is kinked or otherwise blocked, would be my guess.

When the piston rings start getting bad you get blow-by and oil in the air box. I have the same problem. There isn't really a cheap fix for this condition. New rings and a bore job is the only way to fix it.

I hope he figured this out. The thread is from 2 years and 6 months ago.

The cheap fix is to make an oil catcher that runs in line with your PCV hoses. I made one for abour $10 out of a large metal jar, two barbed hose fittings and some small hose clamps.
