87 YJ - Motor options

My 87 yj has 258 4.2 from an 81 cj and I'm pretty sure it's going to crap out soon. img_2652.jpgLooking at motor options for my setup. I have the automatic transmission that came on the 87's. I'd appreciate suggestions as to maybe a premium option, happy medium, and a low budget option (yeah right huh?). Pretend I don't know a whole bunch regarding other essential items that will also need to be added for the new motor to function correctly.

A fresh 4.2 with a warranty and TBI injection.
Add a proper air cleaner, HEI, a low restriction exhaust and gear it correctly.
My kids 4.2 Jeep isn't that far off my 4.0 and my 4.0 will bark the tires shifting into second with an automatic.
The 4.2 is a wonderful industrial quality engine used by Jeep, International Harvester, and was even used on farm
equipment. They often last 20+ years and hundreds of thousands of miles.

Where will you be in 25 years? The Jeep should still be hauling your butt around.
Just my worthless .02

Premium-- 5.3 or 6.2 LS
Happy Medium-- Freshly rebuilt 4.2 (with MOPAR MPFI and 4.0 head) This is may cost more than the premuim
Low Cost-- Used 4.0 with FI, Drop it in

Thats my 2 cents,
