87 YJ fuel tank and lines running to fuel pump

My 87 YJ was running great when I decided to install rear bumper. I could not get my fat hand on the backside of frame to install nut on bolt that holds bumper bracket. So I decided to loosen fuel tank skid plate, when I did tank also came down. I was able to finish bolting bumper on and able to get tank and plate mounted. When I went to drive jeep it would run for maybe 2 minutes and die when i drove it, I thought it may have pinched fuel line at tank. But before I did anything else i checked fuel pump and it would pump as I turned engine over for about 45 seconds and stop. Oh, byt he way this is a mechinical fuel pump. Am I thinking right about fuel line? If so any way of determining where line is pinched? Help!!!!!!!!!! thanks , Gary

only way to do it right is to lower the tank a little so you can see the lines.
sounds like either a pinched fuel or return line. blocked vent would also do the same, would create a vacuum in the tank starving the motor of fuel.
could try running it with the fuel cap off, venting the tank, but the end result is the same, lower the tank ON A JACK and fix the problem correctly...
