87 YJ Build

I just bought an 87 YJ with a new weber carb still in the box, I think it has a 4" Procomp lift and 33/12.50 tires.
It has no sway bar or track bars. Is it ok to put stock track bars back on it?
I'm ordering a sway bar from Q-tec with quick disconnects.
pulling the 258 tomorrow to be rebuilt
Plan on a 1" BL, do I need to lift the motor 1" too?

Heres some pics as of yesterday

You have to lift the body to life the motor, but you can lift the body without the motor.

Any other plans besides the rebuild and new carb?

That's a clean looking 87. Any 87's up here all need some patch panels.

2005, I6, 6 Speed, RC 2.5", RC front adj. track bar, 31" Goodyear DuraTracs

i wouldn't even put trac bars on, there useless your better off without them but if you wanted them you would need trac bar relocation brackets to put stock trac bars on.

1995 YJ, 4 banger, 3.5" lift, 33s

Probly mod the cage a bit, custom bumpers, bed liner, sye, nutter, good seat covers, I'm sure there will be more.
I'm gonna drive it on the street alot thats why I was wanting track bars back on. where can i get the relocation brackets.

I would just get the sway bar and bolt it up with quick disco's. I have never noticed any major differance on road from not having trackbars but the offroad is so much better. It will still handle fine with just the swaybar.

Ok well I wont then, that'll save me some $$$.

Heres some pics from today, I got the grill, radiator, motor, tranny, t-case and driveshafts out.

Is there a motor that would look almost exactly like the 258, the motor mounts look like they were just pieced on there. Is there a positive way to know if it's the 258. I'm probly just paranoid.

Just put on sway bars with quick disconnects, leave the trac bars off

Well it's been a long week, I got the interior stripped the fenders and hood are off i'm ready to pull the tub.

I found the rust monster do they make replacement panels for this:

put in a 1" motor mount lift, that way you won't have to drop the tranny skid plate, you gain alittle more clearance.

258 str.6 w/1" mml, nuttered, 32/36 weber carb, hei, TF-999 w/hurst floor shift, np231 w/aa slip yoke eliminator, jks quick discos, 3-1/2" fabtech, 1" bl, MORE 5/8" boomerangs front and rear, dana 44's front and rear 4.56 locked, herculined tub and family style roll bar, jks u-bolt plates, xenon flat fenders, rrc pre-runner, custom built rear bumper, Gen-right rock sliders and hood louvers, 35" mtz micky t's, bullet proof high steer, bestop soft top w/tinted windows.
