87 YJ Build

I just bought an 87 YJ with a new weber carb still in the box, I think it has a 4" Procomp lift and 33/12.50 tires.
It has no sway bar or track bars. Is it ok to put stock track bars back on it?
I'm ordering a sway bar from Q-tec with quick disconnects.
pulling the 258 tomorrow to be rebuilt
Plan on a 1" BL, do I need to lift the motor 1" too?

Heres some pics as of yesterday

I'll keep everyone updated

You have to lift the body to life the motor, but you can lift the body without the motor.

Any other plans besides the rebuild and new carb?

That's a clean looking 87. Any 87's up here all need some patch panels.

i wouldn't even put trac bars on, there useless your better off without them but if you wanted them you would need trac bar relocation brackets to put stock trac bars on.

I would just get the sway bar and bolt it up with quick disco's. I have never noticed any major differance on road from not having trackbars but the offroad is so much better. It will still handle fine with just the swaybar.

Is there a motor that would look almost exactly like the 258, the motor mounts look like they were just pieced on there. Is there a positive way to know if it's the 258. I'm probly just paranoid.

put in a 1" motor mount lift, that way you won't have to drop the tranny skid plate, you gain alittle more clearance.
