8.8 question

I'm a noobie. I just wanted to know if a 8.8 had lsd or what. Also if you have 4.10s in the rear tc do you need to change the gears up front too?

Some 8.8's have lsd. If you buy one with 4.10's and that's not what gears you already have, then yes, you'll have to regear the front.

what he said. if you look there will be a tag on the diff. usually botled on with one of the diff bolt covers. this tag will say the gear ration and if it has a limited slip or not. so it would read something like "307 LS" denoting 3.07 gears and a limited slip.

And yes if you get one with 4.10s in it you will need to regear your Dana 30 up front to 4.10s as well. you can't run 2 different gear ratios, at least not in 4WD. good way to destroy your transfercase among other things.

If its the same price as a open then yes get it, and sell it later if you upgrade, if it ups the price then I would say save that money for a locker!

So I can't get an 8.8 with a locker in it? It doesn't come that way I'd have to mod it ?

you cant get one with a locker in it unless someone else installed it before you. Some have the limited slip in them whcih helps a little and the rest are open.

Joe, everytime you post pictures like that you get me super excited about my build. I cant wait for the "pfsht" sound lol

Rubi's are a thin walled D44 with 4:10's and a selectable locker. Im not shure if its air or electric.
