8.8 install problems

I finally put my 8.8 under the Jeep. I got it from another Jeeper who'd had it under his YJ before electrical gremlins finally caused him to give up and part it out. I had nothing to do with the shock or spring pad welding and that's where my problem are. I've got a SYE and what I imagine is a custom length drive-shaft. I ran into 2 problem during the install that are causing me to drive around in 4WD with my rear drive-shaft disconnected and sitting on the passenger floor. When I had the Jeep on jack-stands in front of the spring perches, I believe this represent more or less full droop. When I go to hook up my drive-shaft there are 2 problems. 1 the shaft is 100% compressed. I had to put a flange adapter on the end of the drive-shaft and this may be where the extra length is coming from. 2 the axle is barely pointed at the t-case at all. So I figure what I need to do is 1 have the static portion of my drive-shaft shortened and 2 get some bigger degree shims to point the axle up. Agree? Disagree? Bueller?

Thanks
Adam

Sadly the driveshaft got sold with the transfer case. Long gone. I'm on my own for what it might have looked like. I figure once I get the degree shims in, I can make an estimate for how much I need knocked off my drive-shaft. The trick is going to be how much shim to put in. I don't want to screw that up. Anyone who's got a SUA 8.8 have any idea what angle their axle is pitched at?
