I am very much a fan of launching Jeeps, which is what I will be building my YJ to handle in the future. Some good places to catch air at the speed of sound out here in Phelan.

EDIT: I will be spending my morning scouring your links instead of sleeping, this is much more interesting than breakfast or sleep.

this thread is making me want to steal the motor and trans out of my wife"s durango just so I can get rid of my 2.5. So the jeep np231 bolts right up to the Chrysler auto trans?

The link will take you right to mylilyj's post where he mentions the t-case, since he came from a 2.5 that means his t-case is a 21 spline I assume, granted it's the t-case that came in his Jeep.

If that's the case, there you go!

Negative mine was 23 spline. It was an auto. I swamped my trans really bad and picked up another that had a tcase with it. When I lined the new drivetrain up with my tcase with she it was obviously too long. I sold my tcase with reg sye for 300 and used money for a super short. The spline input section can be easily swapped from junkard tcase once you get good practice playing with snap rings.

Would you say a super short is a must with this setup?
