Damn dude, that is nice.

How the hell did you drop the whole thing in there? What kind of wiring issues would need to be addressed?

I have a spare 5.2L motor and 42RE tranny laying around and I'd love to do that to one of my YJ's.

Can you please elaborate on some of the wiring that you did to get it running?

Do you have to smog this vehicle?
I can't get a straight answer from the gov. about this.
Some people have told me that in Washington it doesn't matter what motor you have as long as you can pass the sniffer, other people have told me that it's factory motors only until the vehicle hits 25 years old.

Hey guys MY buddy did this on his 89 YJ. With a 318 from a ram with the 5 speed. he had the hole truck so it made it simple. it has GREAT power and he gets great gas mileage with 35 tires. I was so impressed i going to do the same i got a 94 Dakota with the 318 w/5spd, the best part my Jeep is a 94 also so the computer/and wiring will be real simple. My two cents would be keep it OBD1 then you want have some many Emmissions issues. the only thing is you will need to beef up your rear end if you have a D35. Belive me you will rip it apart.

well heres a pic of the trans mount its not the greatest but basicly all I did was use the mounting plate that was used on the trans from the GC and welded a small piece of c chanel than some 1/4" plate and drilled it for the wrangler mount

Where did you get the throttle body cap that the air filter is connected to? My 5.9 has a big round filter on top of the tb, I'd rather use something like you have to connect to my tj air box.

I been keepng an eye for a donor vehicle with a 5.2 or 5.9..really like to do the 5.9 but seems harder to find a good donor vehicle with that engine in it..a 5.2 and 5.9 is the same block..so should be about the same swap and fit as a 5.2..all that with my 9" rear and dana 44 front i have sitting here..i think she's gonna be a winner..lol

What radiator did you go with? Think I could use the zj radiator and electric fan?

Please more info on wiring. I am under the impression the cassis harness plugs in the zj comp justa couple pins need to be moved around.

Can you shoot a couple pics of the exhaust. Thanks

I used an aluminum conversion rad I got off ebay so not sure about using the zj one. wiring really is fairly easy especially if your all ready fuel injected and can read a basic schematic. I got mine from this websight for both the donor and my yj cost is 11.00 each complete color bumper to bumper schematics. http://www.ahdol.com

I used the engine and pdc from the donor and just cut it were it went into the cowl. than I traced and labeled everything not attached to eng, trany or computer. done same to the cowl plug on my yj.. made it real easy at that point just attach constant power, switched power, fuel pump, and guages fired right up have not had an issue with it at all
