http://www.photodump.com/viewer/the5barrons/350CHEVY2.html

I'm stoked.

94 YJ, 35's, 350 chevy, 3 speed auto, blah blah blah. Got some work to do...like eliminating the 3" body lift and upping the leave to 4.5+....

Oh boy does it have power.....

Sticks

Your install looks to be going great....your going to love it.

You are right my fine sir. You see Ford thought they would be cool and turn it the other way on the Lincoln. This motor came out of Mark VII LSC. The motor made the same power just turned. They did that so you could know the difference between the two plus I am guessing there wasn't enough room on the Mustang to go that way. They did this with the 4.6L a couple times too.

How did you figure out the wiring so fast, im dreading the day I have to start wiring the chevy 350 into my jeep, and I have yet to find real good info on it. I was thinking of buying a universal wiring harness, my friend can get me one for $150, so price isnt bad, but how did you do it?

and o yeah, what do you think is the best way to get those novak motor mounts all lined up and square? I have the same ones and have been debating the easiest way to get them in there straight, level and square.

Wiring was easy this motor came out of a Ranger someone had already done all the work. The guy took it out of Mark VII put it in the Ranger wrecked the Ranger sold the enigine, tranny, computer and wiring. And through in a mass air he had and all motor mounts and headers for 500 bucks. Well I sold the tranny for 300 bucks. Sold mass air for 150 bucks. Cause he gave me speed density and mass for the motor and two computers. So if I get a Ranger I have all mounts and adapters to put one in. Since he had it in Ranger the wiring was done. So all I have to do is drop it in the Jeep and hook up battery cables.
It also helps since Ford is like ten times easier to wire the Bowtie. That is why so many people tune Mustang 5.0 there is nothing to them.

The motor mounts I bolted the motor to the tranny then I took protractor and set front of the motor so it was up 5 degrees. Once I got it set I bolted the mounts on. Took magic marker and marked around the mount on the frame. Then took the motor out. Leveled the mounts with my marks welded. Then put the motor back in. It was easy.

Sounds like your Air bypass valve is sticking. It is the thing on the side of the trottle body (if you don't know). There is a little hole of the side of the trottle body that goes into it. Take your fingure or rag and stick it in the hole. If the idle comes down then that is the problem. Also make sure your trottle blade is closed at idle. If those don't fix it then you have a leak in the intake some where. Take some carb cleaner and mist it around the intake and listen for the engine to bog down. Good luck I have owned my 5.0 Mustang for 9 years so I know alot of tricks for them.

I went to the bone yard and got a set of manifolds and Y pipe out of 89 F150. They fit. So I think she will be ready to drive this weekend. Merry Christmas to me.

I know I am a slacker. It's been nice weather too. Well I bought the upper radiator hose had to get a flex one. I had some other parts I had taken off the motor for one of my mustang so I have been looking for those. I was trying to replace the studs on the exhuast manifolds and one of the manifold broke. So I had to JB weld it. I hope it holds.

The other problem is my wife gave me my Christmas present early so I have been playing GUN on the Xbox last two days. I might try work on it today some. And maybe tomorrow. If I work on it tomorrow. I should have it going. Only thing I need to do get it started is hook up the inline fuel pump.
