This is a place I found some info. Since Advance Adapters web site sucks. But they have all the parts needed.

My biggest worry is the extra weight might make the front end sit lower than desired. I'm wanting to do a RE 4.5" lift, 302H.O, winch, and maybe later on a hard-top and full doors. Does anyone know if the springs will still keep the Jeep level after this?

They say the 5.0 is only about 100lbs more the 4.0. I will post pics when I have it done.

Got the motor mounts welded in. Now I have get a 11 inch clutch disc from Chevy truck with 10 teeth and 1 1/8 shaft. Pressure plate and throw out bearing for 87 F150. Then I can bolt the motor in. All smoke is in the pic is from welding.

I put a winch on the front of my Jeep and I noticed a difference while driving. I felt the weight in the front. You may have to play with the suspension some, but I think the motor by itself wouldn't be too bad seeing as the weight difference is only 100 pounds and it's not on the edge of the Jeep.

We just had this discusion on the trail while waitng for a 2wd to get pulled out of the way. IIRC the Ford 351W w/aluminum intake mnfld and true headers, aluminum valve covers and Fuel Injected, weighs roughly the same as the I6, +or - 50lbs. Think about how much weight a winch is, yet nobody thinks twice about putting on one of those. How about HD nuclearblast proof RA bumbers? Or rock sliders? More hp is bad how?

Here is my part list so far.
5.0L HO motor, ECM, and wiring out a 90 Lincoln LSC
Bellhousing, slave cylinder, starter, and start shim plate of a 87 F150.
Flywheel for a 5.0 F150
11 inch 10Tx1 1/8" clutch disc for 88 Chevy 1500 305 motor.
Throw out bearing and pressure plate for 87 F150.
Motor mounts from Advanced adapter.
AX15 to Ford small block adapter plate this lets you bolt a Ford truck bellhousing to the AX15.
AdvanceAdapters.com has part #s Use those part numbers and buy them from Summit Racing they were 80 bucks cheaper then Advance for there adapters. If I was going to do it again I would build my own motor mounts. Could have saved 100 bucks.
I have inline fuel pump and bracket out of Econoline Ford Van I found at the Bone Yard.
Only things I have get now is Headers. I will post when I find some.

I read that the 5.0 weighed about the same. But I also read Chevy was heavier then 4.0. So I figured I would be safe by saying 100lbs heavier.

AX15 is about 400Ft lbsTorque Tranny

That is why pentastar went to that Gear box. It's Over Kill for the Jeep. But they knew people were throwing bigger tires on them so the put that in help I guess. T-5 was available with 231 in the 80s. I am going to stick with ax for now. If I break that then it's getting a 6 Speed.
Good to know...
