Im looking for a reliable swap that i could do on a 86 xj replacing the gm 2.8 v6. I intend on it being a daily driver and was looking for another v6 but the only swap's that i have seen are to a v8 or 4bt diesel your thread was the first that i came across for the 5.0 small block ford every thing else seamed to be a chevy. The lt1 swap that i came across some reported getting between 20 to 25 mpg and the 4bt swaps that i ran into it was 28 to 30 mpg. For the ones that have already done this swap what kind of mileage are you getting? Im sure a swap like this isn't intended for mileage but but it would be a much better and easier swap than the lt1 or ls1.. Thanks for any info you can pass my way i read this whole thread and was hooked on a 5.0 swap from page 2... great thread

I never noticed the mileage. I bet with right set up it could have gotten 20 plus mpg. I am working on the collecting the parts to do it in my XJ. Thread link above. I almost have everything I need. I will be starting it sometime before fall I am guessing.

In scratched the plan I had before but am looking at a 460/c6/np205 combo or a '89 town car 5.0/np435 combo.
