4wd indicator

95 4cyl 5speed. No light comes on when put in 4wd. Thinking burned out bulb, I pulled the bezel over the steering wheel to check the bulb. There is no place for a 4wd indicator on the bezel. Turn signals, shift indicator, ABS, Check Engine, Brights, and One green looking symbol that I didn't recognize doesn't even have a socket for a bulb under it. My 87 had an indicator within that bezel. Did they decide to do without in 95?

Yours should be on the bezel above the radio on the far left. That's where mine is at least. You might want to take the switch out of the front axle and see if it turns the bulb on and off.

If it's a red LED right under the temp gauge, the switch won't matter until I find where one of the previous owners hid the wires they cut.

I'm not sure what light you're talking about but anyway I got this pic off JF. It's small but it shows where the 4wd light is on my jeep.

I'll take a look there. I think that's where the clock was on my 87. I didn't think about them putting the 4wd indicator there. The LED I'm talking about is probably some aftermarket thing one of the POs put in there. Thanks.

I had that problem too years ago. My shift motor was stuck in the locked position so I took it off and cleaned it up with brake cleaner, stuck it back on and it's worked fine for years.
