4 cylinder fuel pressure

1991 4 cylinder won't start. Just bought it cheap. Previos owner said it might be fuel related. What PSI is good? I have 40 PSI at the valve on the fuel rail. Anything else common I can look for? Thanks.

40 PSI is OK, but what is the correct PSI? Spark is the next thing I check. That's tomorrows project.

Engine running 39 PSI with no vacuum to regulator, 31 with vacuum to regulator so 40 PSI at the rail is right.
If the pump is running and the engine is off it should 53 PSI

No spark. I started fishing around with the test light, and located a wire that was broken. One of the wires to the plug on the coil was broken. Runs like a champ now.

Great I'm glad it was a free fix.

I have a similar problem,
I have changed cap. rotor, button, coil, vacum lines and have good fuel pressure, but when I get about 7 Gallons out of the tank everything goes to crap!!!! The gage when filled up showes about a quarter over full but only shows a quarter with 7 gallons gone. this adds up to 150 miles on 7-12 gallons depending on when it wants to start this whole thing. It is a big issue on the trail, im thinking about droping the gas tank and checking things out, has anyone heard of this problem with the 2.5L 1992. I would search but im new and must wait, please anything is a good start. I have even replaced the TPS and still no luck!!!
