4.7 build up
ok sp im trying to decide stroker or v-8 both come with there advantages and disadvantages. ive done extensive research on both. prices are comparable. down time is comparable. the one draw back to the stroker is that that is it as far as performance its hard to squeeze more power out of the stroker. compared to the v-8 .
so yall throw me some input and some more resources. and personal experience. lets see were it takes me. ![]()

Depends on the price, installed!
For the price of a stroker kit you can get a good used fuel injected V8 and all of the OEM sensors and wiring and have more in the end, IMO. Enjoy! |

i have a bored 4.3 chevy in mine, exactly the same swap as a 350....theres a link at the bottom of my sig.
the sbc will always have more torque than the stroker, and it will be lower in the rpm range, so easier to use... i vote for a sbc/700r4 out of the 2 choices... i went with the 4.3 for the lighter weight (@100lbs) and smaller dimensions....its nice to be able to place the motor where you want it, and not where it will fit... martin

I might build one some time (out of curiosity, and because I will have a couple of engines sitting arround (free)). But it all comes down to personnal preferance. I'm a I-6 freak; but the additional cylinders in a V8 give more power with less weight penalty, IMO.
Enjoy! |

Since you have the 4.0L already installed, a stroker shouldn't be hard. But you won't get the power that the V8 has to offer on its worst day w/o spending some money on the stroker. The only reason I'm gonna stay with the stroker idea is I want to keep it Jeep, and I have a high horsepower truck already.
