My main harness is still yj so no security wires to be worried about, but could it be possible that the automatic flywheel fires 180 degrees off from the standard flywheel because my ditributor was never removed but perhaps moving the plug wires could be the difference maker. I will definately have to check for spark tonight when i get home. I just assumed that with rotation and fuel i must have no spark but maybe its just on the wrong fire per plug.

As long as the vss wires are not connected or grounded you are fine. You can make the 2 wire work but it is not necessary to start. What about the other things?

I have never gotten around to hooking mine up. I figured that since my YJ was running good that I didn't need them. Maybe in the future I will get around to it.

The worry is just shorting. It will rail the power low and not throw a code.

hey. I just did this same swap in my 76cj. hooked up the 5 for fire and all my sensors and now i have no spark my harness is out of a 93 wrangler and not 100% complete so i dont know for shure if its out of an automatic or not. could the neutral safety switch be my problem?
i measured and i have 12V to my coil when ignition is on and i can hear my fuel pump run but no spark. any ideas on how to make it work?

Hey lost, if you can post up to a new thread. Did you swap the flywheel to the 93 when you did it? The flywheel from the 93 is needed to trigger the crank sensor.

Ok cevans87 i wanna do a push button start and have a on/off switch in my lockable console.... no top!!! my question is if i connect all the 4 wires(except starter) to battery positive with on/off switch will it run??? than to start it i'll skip the starter relay but hook starter wire to a push button to battery positive, is this ok? i know it will work already done it but is it messing with computer?? with the no signal from starter relay at initial start up?
dont wanna fry my computer.
ANYBODY's help would be greatly appreciated. and i hope this isn't hijacking the thread it seems relevant.

ok nvm figured it out:
-to "turn computer on": just connect "E4 ignition switch feed" and "B6 ignition start/run" together through a double pole throw switch.
--to run fuel pump: use other pole of switch and connect 12v to fuel pump.
---lastly to start: give 12v power to starter solenoid through a push button.
and as for fuses im not an expert.... but im sure you need them, just not sure if its a MUST.
Thanks cevans87 for starting this thread and thanks to others also for your input. together you guys got me through this.

I don't want to keep dragging this question out but the wiring is the last part of my swap, and I'm close to getting started on it.

I'm going to bypass the relay, and run a wire from the alternator to solenoid. Then I need the starter wire (hot while cranking only?) to the trip relay (not sure what relay this is) can anyone help out with this?

A bit shout out to cevans for taking the time to take my phone call and helping me source the last few wire hookups i needed. This guy goes above and beyond and is a shining example of a true jeeper and forum friend.
thanks again and cevans the pics of the xj console mod is coming soon
