4:10 gears????

I have a set of 4:10's and I want to run 33's. I have the 4.2 in my wrangler and was wondering if I could turn them with ease or not. I noticed in a four banger that the rpm's are about 1000 more than mine in fifth gear. I know that the four banger has 4:10s and I have 3:07s but I put a 4:10 in my jeep for the week one time and it put the rpms around the same range as the four cyl. So would anyone do that or would you do the engine work before you put the tires on or would you go ahead and do the gears and tires. Thanks for any input.

Well, I am waiting to regear myself, but I can tell you that going from 3.07's to 4.10's is going to be a big jump, and you will have much more low end power, and running 33's should be much easier.

I'm not sure what it would be like with 3.07's but 4.10's with 33's is no party. I would think 3.07's would be horrible.

I'm new to the 4.2 and know that it is torquey, but mine has a weber, MSD but the stock exhaust, and 75 mph is about it. That's correcting for the speedo being 10% off.

Around town it's fine and I can keep up and sometimes pull away from traffic, but the E-way in a head wind give it up.

I guess "at ease" is relative.

4" suspension and 3" body lifts with 33's looks pretty damn good.
