4.0 alternator upgrade

So I've done some searching and everything I read is about the 4.2 or 4cy. My questiong is about the 4.0 in my dad's 91. I've read about the 160a durango swap for 4.0 tj's and the 136a swap from a grand cherokee for tj's, but will these work on a 91 yj?

Go to post 14 for the list. You cannot use the CS-144. You must use the externally regulated. GC, Durango, etc. in the list.

The article only lists a 98 durango but can I still use the larger 160a from an 04-06, and I assume the wiring between the alternator and battery needs to be upgraded as well.
