No matter how much u guys say it the tbi isn't going back on it right now. All my stuff came from summit today so I'm gonna start putting the carb stuff on in about an hour. And about the only carb i have ever had problems with was one that sat for 12 years.
You have to do whats right for you! Thats what makes our Jeeps ours
well this is from last night but better late than never. the brown santa brought me some gifts(ups) also got the manifold installed and the distributor in. the clearance for the hei is alittle close but should be good. also i had to grind a little off the front of the man to clear the accesory bracket. and also the 4 inner bolt holes needed ground a bit. overall a nice looking manifold.
yeah im running the stock pump up to the regulator. and i had to change the output to the side port for the carb. got the plug wires back on and rewired the fuel pump and distributor. also got some of the vac lines hooked up and modded the throttle cable bracket to work.
didnt get too much done this weekend, had other things to do. but what i did get done. i cut and installed the E-fan and shroud. set the fuel pressure, and filled her back with coolant. and just a pic to throw in. this is what happened at the last mudbog. the other side is a chromo and was fine. the stock didnt fair so well. this is a dana44 from the ranger.
got the carb tuned tonight and set the timing to 6 degrees. the thing idles great!! i may have to change the thermostat tho. i will have to wait till i can run it for real to find out tho. and also have to call the company about the gauges. the tach reads about 400 rpm fast and it will not adjust off of that. and also the volt gauge reads 10v all the time even when the battery charger is charging it to 15v.
worked on the heep alittle more tonight. got the trans back out of it and the rear main seal out. the old seal wasnt even touching the crank on the outer lip. i hope a new seal solves the problem. i dont want to drop the trans again!!
