33s on a four banger

I have 1990 yj with a four inch lift with 31s on it but I want to get some more clearance so I'm thinking about putting 33s on and regearing later in summer. Can the 4 banger do it geared at 4:88:1 thanks

It could do it on 4.56 but if you are doing a regear, might as well go to 4.88

I run 35's on a 4 banger with 4.88's. Not as fast as when I was on 33's but it works.

I was running 35s on 4 banger and 4.56 gears with no problems- yeah not exactly zippy but it would do 65 (70 on a good day with a tail wind). I am now running 34x10.5 but don't really drive it on the street any more so can't tell you if they do better with the skinnier smaller tires...
