It is recommended, however you may be able to get away with a transfer case drop.

Most people will tell you every jeep is different. I have a 3.5" BDS with 1" lift shackles and I needed a SYE.

I did NOT.

Fabtech 3.5" lift kit. Netted more like 4" for a while.
I used a t-case drop for a while, until i got my 8.8 rear end-- THEN I got my sye and xj driveshaft and 5/8" boom shackles.

every jeep is different....

see i was able to drive for a long time without it, but now something has happened to my jeep , that i dont have the pick up i used to , im over heating as i go up hill and as i go down hill i get some vibration. Now that was just only with a t-case drop. Now what has happened about 4 weeks ago.
I started to get vibration down below. I noticed the skid plate was cocked eyed for some time. i actually got more washers and dropped it lower, and also reenforced the bottom of the skid plate with new washers.. but now , Im over heating up hill, no power driving straight, no power going up hill, and vibration going down hill . Any idea's
