i wanted to test fit my springs to determine my front spring hanger location....i am using yj 2.5" lift springs and when i bolted on the rear shackle and put the spring in place i measured and i am showing it moved the hanger back almost 10"s????? it is suspose to be a 6" stretch but i am ok with the extra if that is how it will mount.....i put the rear shackle straight up and down simulating full suspension drop. so when i put the weight on the springs it will put the shackle at an angle. is that correct??? i just want to make sure i get the front hanger position correct. if it is correct i will gain right at 10"s of stretch....why is it that when xj springs are used you only gain 6"s

am i correct so far?? any help would be appreicated!!!!!

Before you burn in the welds on the front hangers put the weight back down on the springs to make sure the shackle angle looks good.

The unloaded spring will sit in a different location than if the weight was of the jeep was sitting on them.

^^true but the front mount doesnt move so i am guessing that the difference in stretch is the offset pin that the xj spring pack uses and the extra stretch i am gaining is from me using the yj springs...i am running the blue torch stretch kit which is designed to use xj spring to give you a stretch of 6"s....so i am figuring.... subtract the 28 5/8"s from the 23"s on the xj leaf spring measurements and thats where i picked up the extra stretch with the yj springs

xj spring pack measures approx 23" to center pin and 28 5/8" to center pin
where as the yj measures 22 11/16" to center pin on both sides

got my beadlock rings today and thought i would go ahead and weld one up....gona scuff the chrome and paint the wheels black and outter rings red

made a little more progress....ground down the calipers to fit the 15" wheels

Blue Torch Side frame plates came in mail so went ahead and welded them on.

also went ahead and finished welding the rings on the wheels for the beadlocks and scuffed them and primed and painted wheels

starting to assemble one of the tire/wheels...had to stop and go get bb's to balance and valve stems
