And then I decided to MOCK UP the stock exhaust ...... Just for chits and giggles ; and it was not as bad as I thought . Mercedes had like 3 different heat shields around their starter ( but it was the size of a combine tractors starter ) !!

IF you want to find a donor car for the motor .....

I will be selling these kits as a complete nut and bolt ( and I mean ALL nuts and bolts and ALL instructions kit )( you will reuse the 6 bolts I mentioned a couple posts ago that bolt the adapter plate to the block )) !! It will fit the TJ model with the NV 3550 trans also if you use the AX-15 bellhousing which I can provide ; I will also provide in the kit a resurfaced flywheel with the adapter plate installed and drilled for the mercedes crank with the pilot bearing/bushing installed !! By the time it is all over I will probably provide in the instructions the wiring diagrams as well !!!

Let me know what ya think !!

If you need me to include the Bell housing $725 and if you have your own $650 !!

Man ; if I had some help getting the trans and transfer case / skid plate back under the jeep I am ready to set the motor back in and have a couple buddies come help weld the motor mounts ...... I feel I am doing good for someone going into surgery for a double disc fusion L3-L4 and L4-L5 on OCtober 20th .....

do what you can now and you BETTER just lay up until the surgery heals.
My best friend for 30 yrs had this surgery done and he screwed around doing stuff now he has to do it all over again......Get the rest to let it heal properly this is not a joking matter....the jeep can wait.

I was breezing through all the new stuff you've been doing..first let me say..AWESOME JOB so far!

I just have one question, maybe i read wrong because i just flipped through quick but...

You said about using the Jeep starter for it,if thats the case,do you think you will have any issues with it on a diesel since they have tons of compression compared to a gas engine?

I agree with others here,do not take a chance on your back surgery, let it heal right.
Freind if mine had the same done and went against doc's orders and went and finished his Jeep project for a competition and now he has to do the surgery all over again.

But , my wife will not let me go out the back door for like 6 months after the surgery !! got to keep her happy and heal !! She also stated that she will burn the GARAGE DOWN with the JEEP in it ........ IF I BREAK THE RULES !!! SHE JUST LOVES ME !!!!!

The guy I took this inspiration from has been using the stock JEEP starter with no problems at all . We are using the HIGH TORQUE MINI STARTER though !!

I had to quit last nite and take a break !! I was so excited about getting the engine in and connected to the trans that I started stabbing the trans and realized I forgot the THROW OUT BEARING so I pulled the engine out, put the throw out bearing and shaft in place; and turned off the garage lites and QUIT !!!

I went today to get a YJ front dana 30 with 4.10 gears to match the Isuzu Rodeo rear 4.10s .!! I will start that project after the engine is running !!!

Tomorrow I will stab the engine to trans and bolt them all up ( I will take PICS ) and then I will concentrate on getting the fuel tank and some wiring to the glow plugs .!! Buddy is bringing welder on WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY to weld the motor mounts !! I am reusing the Mercedes motor mounts and bolting them to the mounts WE weld in !!

Subscribing to this. Gotta see how it ends. I am a diesel fan and love seeing these kinds of swaps. Great job so far.
