Bio-diesels run so clean, it cleans out your cylinders and plugs up fuel filters and pumps. It takes awhile of constantly running Bio-diesel and changing filters before you're on even ground again. Vegetable oil you can either process it into a fuel, or heat it up (in the fuel line) to a certain temperature so it will ignite in the cylinder. |

In my 96 I ran a 50/50 mix of WVO and diesel with no ill effect other that I had it gell in the fuel lines once during the winter.

I definitely can't wait to see this finished. I would have really liked to put in a diesel when I rebuilt my 4.0, just didn't have the time. Has anyone ever thought about a Volkswagen diesel? I thought I had read a post when someone put in a 1.9 volks dsl. and got just as good a mileage. Should be a lot of those on junkyard lots. Maybe I'm just thinkin' out loud for a new project myself.

Have been EXTREMELY busy putting stuff together , measuring , I am sure you can imagine !!!I had a slight problem and started over..... I gave the machinist my cardboard mock up and markings ....... I asked him to double check my measurements.... HE accidently flipped over the plate which offset EVERYTHING so It NO longer fit the Dakota Bellhousing!! I had a choice either scrap and start over OR see if I could make it fit with the AX-15 Bell ...... Well to my suprise ....NOT ONLY DID IT FIT BUT IT FIT 1000 TIMES BETTER THAN I THOUGHT ; AND IT FIXED SOME OTHER PROBLEMS I HAD NOT FIGURED OUT YET !! I did have to clearance the engine oil pan but you will soon see the couple hundred thousands of an inch weren't enough to complain about !! GET READY ...... I AM GOING TO SPEND THE DAY TAKING PICTURES AND SHOWING YOU WHAT I CAME UP WITH !!! ![]()

The wait is over !!
The six holes you see are the mercedes holes and the six covered by the adapter are obviously the OLD jeep holes This is the Flywheel adapter with the Pilot Bushing/Bearing installed ( as close to the crank as possible !! This is the Engine to Transmission adapter plate !! DUH !! This is the adapter plate installed on the Mercedes 3.0L 5cyl DIESEL!! The top 4 mounting bolts are the ones that came out of those exact holes to hold on the mercedes adapter plate !! The two bottom bolts are the weird bolts that hold the Jeep 4.0L bellhousing onto the engine and they came out of the two top holes nearest the head !!

I went to a specialty bolt company here in town ; I hated the tiny 12 millimeter 12 point crank bolts that are original to Mercedes !
The flywheel adapter leaves some VERY close tolerances ( the guy I got the inspiration from said he had to grind more than half the bolt heads cause the flywheel would make contact !! This is the part I almost could not bring myself to do ...... Clearance the back of the oil pan ..... It is only the shiny parts and maybe 1/8 deep ! This will allow you to be able to change the JEEP MINI starter at any point down the road from any parts house you want to use !!
