2wd wont engage!!!
So i jumped in my trusty yj today and my 2wd wont engage. When i backed out of the drive way my tires started to skip (as they always do on dry pavement when in 4wd) when i turned. So after wrestling the transfer case linkage for an hour i discovered that that wasn't the problem. I recently permanently locked my Dana 30 via the "stack of washers" mod, and that is the only thing i can think of right now that 'might' have something to do with my problem. I'm absolutely sure that it is in 4wd (front tires have power going to them) i can also switch from 4hi-Neutral-4lo no problem; its just the 2wd.
Except for checking my transfer case fluid im all out of ideas. My heep has 67,000 miles on it and has always been babied so im not exactly sure why it decided to pwn me. Thanks alot- Matt

Well he said he replaced the axle actuator with a "stack of washers", so that's not it. It would most likely be something not disengaging properly in the t-case.

So do you think its not engaging because of some sort of fluid or gear issue? I know alot of people on here say that some 'grinding' and other noises can be heard for the transfer case while trying to shift, but im not very sure how severe or the weak the noises are that everyones talking about. This is my first Jeep and i know that when i switch between 2wd and 4wd it would be pretty apparent that i did so. (my making a decently loud grinding noise followed by a 'thud'. BTW now when i try and go in 2wd it doesn't make any noise that its even trying an attempt to go in gear
