2nd 3rd gear issue

I am having trouble shifting into second an third it started after my 02 issues. Is it possible the engine running lean could cause this? I have replaced my clutch master and slave and all was good. I have a bad wire on my 02 causing lean issues so I don't know what's going on. If it's the synchros I am screwed I can't afford it.

The O2 wouldn't have anything to do with it. Hoping Mean Max can help with your tranny.

Sounds like synchros going out, but Max is more of an expert on that AND he will have pics!

Double clutching makes no difference. I was thinking if it's running lean maybe the rpm range for shifting is off.

Running lean isn't going to affect you shifting.

Look for a used transmission, it will be a lot cheaper than repairing yours unless you do it yourself. Get on the classifieds here on jeepforum, craigslist, put wanted ads here at jeepforum you should be able to get one at a good price and near you.

Not necessarily. Craiglist in my area is amazing (complete drivetrains for $150) - and the junkyards are full of XJ's.
