2 part qs, 2.5-TB upgrade / oil in my airbox

so over the weekend i cleaned out my 4banger 2.5L TB filled with oil, nasty(*****!!!), also in the airbox.... ill get to that later.

so i know that most of u have upgraded to the 4.0 TB. i couldnt find a thread. what do i need to buy exactley? i diffently can use the extra power.

and... in the airbox, i have oil coming in from that hose that connects into the back section of the motor, where breaths from......
any help, sugg. would be cool. thnxs

You need the 4.0 TB. You swap over your 2.5 TB sensors onto the 4.0 TB, then bolt on. Although I would bore out the intake manifold to match the now larger TB, otherwise it could potentially be WORSE than before because you would essentially have a large wall that the air hits as it passes the TB.

The ford 19lb injectors spray a finer mist (atomize better) and are said to help a lot with the 4.0TB. I have not done either on the jeep, but have done similar mods to other cars and it's usually a bit more upper end power and more crisp throttle response.

What other info is available about the 2.5L to 4.0L Throttle body conversion is there? this sounds interesting and i would be willing to do it.

Your CCV is plugged and your PVC could use a good cleaning or replacement.

The ccv is a brass plug located on the valve cover above cyl. 1 on the drivers side. Take it out, clean out the sludge, put it back in.

As for the 4.0 tb swap:
security torx are needed
all sensors must be swapped or replacement 2.5l sensor be installed.
There will be no benifit unless you bore the manifold to match the gasket
a 1-2" spacer is recommended for increase torque inprovements.
Reset computer and allow 30+ start run stop cycles. You may experiance erratic idel on first start up.

Injectors:
ford/bosh 19# yellow top injectors type 2 found in 5.0 mustangs type 3 in exploders.. Both work
without raising fuel pressure fuel delivery is actually .1# lower. Atomization is the main improvement.

Adjustible FPR:
only useful if you have done the above and possibly
headers, cam, 62mm tb instead of 4.0, etc
allows injectors to work at full potential
more pressure = more atomization = more power = more combustible fuel

electric fan
more responsive throttle
great cheap replacement for a toast clutch fan.

you will not notice a difference in power by just doing a 4.0 tb.
