2.5 question (compatibility)

i have found a 2.5 used for a good price and want to rebuild it and put it in the yj.

the motor is from a 90 and it is tbi.

is the base motor the same as my 93? i will be putting my mpfi on it just want to know if the block and head are the same?

Yes but there are some differences in the motor mount brackets. Keep your old motor and all attaching parts until the new one is installed.

Also check the oil pans... I know they changed from TJ blocks for YJs.. But I have put in 87 2.5s in a 99... Blocks all the same, its the external stuff and oil pans and oil pumps that are differnt.
