2.5 lift on my 91 yj

Well noticed my rear passenger leaf spring is unrolling from the I hole. So decided to look at the rough country 2.5 suspension lift. What are your thoughts?

Use the search function and look at what the general sentiment on the RC lifts are from actual users on the forum. I don't have nor have I experienced this, but the opinions are pretty strong on these lifts. I would tell you straight out, but I don't want to ruin your surprise or ruin the plot to your reading.

Save your money and look at BDS, OME or Rubicon Express. You get what you pay for in a lift kit no matter what height and the RC is rough in a YJ and have from time to time had some issues. I bought my RC lift through Morris 4X4 and they handled my warranty issues right away no questions asked just sent pics of a sagging leaf spring. New one on the doorstep 3 days later.

The ride quality and long lasting arched springs is what you are looking for. And yes I know how much a good kit costs and you really only want to do this mod once.

I run a 2.5" RC lift. It's ok, but I dont DD it and I havent tried others. It rides softer than my buddies 84 K5 blazer 6.2 Diesel with 3/4ton suspension, but that's not saying much.

The 2.5 lift gave me about 3.75". If/when they wear out I will be looking at BDS, might even go up to 4" springs and dump the rear beaver teeth.

Unless you are on an extremely tight budget, avoid RC. I got the RC 2.5 when I was 15 because I was on a tight budget and wanted the immeidate satisfaction. Worst decision I made on the jeep. It lifted more than 2.5" which led to other necesary changes that I hadnt planned on needing, and it rides like crap. Flex is ok, but I would highly recommend getting a different lift.

I have a 2.5 RC lift of my 93 YJ with 31 stt's and I like it. Its my DD and i haven't really ran into to many issues with the lift, the issues i am having are with the rust. Yea it rides a little ruff, but my mom drove it for a winter and never complained once about it.

Hmmm, thanks for the info guys! I plan upgrading later to 4 or 6 down the road, after turbo/cam/headers etc!

I have an rc 2.5 inch lift. I think it works fine. I have fine tuned the shackle bolt torque to make it softer. With extreme body mods I am running 36 inch tsl s with it.

My ideal future lift will be 0" lift alcan stretched springs running soa.

Pics of mine in my build thread.

Btw I daily drive and off-road my yj.
