No I did not replace a seal, where exactly does this seal go In at? I guess I missed something? I don't recall a seal when I took the old one out. Is there any pics of where this thing goes?

The seal goes in the axle tube next to the differential. With the CAD, the axle is sealed outboard of the CAD, to have the CAD lubricated. When switching to a one piece shaft, a seal needs to be placed next to the diff in the same manner as the drivers side shaft. The seal that worked for the CAD system is too large in diameter to seal with a one piece shaft. It will work as a "dam" for a while on level ground, but will soon be leaking gear oil out your tube.
Lots of threads on here with instructions, but the diff carrier will need to be pulled in order to install the seal.
I use a Seals-it EAS3-05 when I put a one piece shaft in. A bit pricier than the 11800, but easier to install.

Was pulling a load of firewood up a steep grade running over some stumps and the splines let go with a BANG. I do wonder if the TrueTrac allows the intermedate shaft to go further inboard, lessening the engagement of the shift collar.
Now running a one piece shaft and would not consider anything else.

The two that I saw fail were identical to this.

Coincidentally, on the other side of the country, I saw one fail that was set up like this too. The guy had better luck wrapping electrical tape around the shaft afterwards.

Can anyone post a write up on how to install the napa seal into the front axle? I have 2 of them and need to install it. I saw a write up but when I went back to find it, the search engine retrieved nothing. Any help would be great my iPhone seems to be against searching properly.

The factory location for the seal is in the CAD housing, on the wheel side. When most people perform the one-piece shaft swap, they place the seal in the centersection, where the seal is on non-CAD axles. When I did this swap, I put that seal in the factory location inside the CAD housing. This was mainly because of inexperience in vehicular maintenance, and I was incredibly uncomfortable with taking the differential out. The shafts I bought were rust free and smooth, and that swap was over 30,000 miles ago, with no leaks. The write-up is here.
BTW, I apologize for the thumbs down, my internet browser is screwing up and shifting pictures to the left.
