1995 YJ 3 link build on full widths
For the past year or two I've been looking at jeeps trying to find a good project. I finally found the perfect jeep today, a 1995 Wrangler with 90k miles for $1000. The body, engine, etc are in really good condition, but the suspension and tires need some attention. It has what looks to be 10" of lift achieved by 4" springs, 3" shackle, and a 3" body. The tires are also really dry rotted. The first thing i plan on doing is removing the shackle lift and then will probably go to a 1' body lift. The axles have 4.88s so ill just leave them alone till i can put something beefier under it. Tomorrow morning I should be bringing it home so I'll try and clean it up and get some pictures up then.

cheap lift thats why, never realized how much stress they really put on that part of the spring but that pic makes it pretty obvious.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you've got a good start for a nice Jeep build.

How does a longer shackle put that much stress on the spring?
