1994 Left Turn Boogered

Did the search, and replaced the relay, still acting the same.

What I got:

Left turn gives me a faint turn indicator, no flash.
Right turn works great.
Hazards work too.

I replaced the relay but still the same behavior.
At this point I'm assume the switch assembly is dodgy?

All help appreciated.

By relay I am assuming you mean the flasher relay?

I would either replace both front and rear turn signal bulbs on the left side of the Jeep or swap them out for the ones on the right side of the Jeep. A bad bulb or contact can cause funny things to happen.

But if it were a bulb, wouldn't that affect the hazards, which are working fine?

After doing multiple tests with the Hazards, 5 of 7 times the left front would NOT flash. Reseated the bulb and it started working as expected, including the Left Turn. I suspect it was corroded and would make contact "some of the time".

Good call and thanks for getting me to revisit the bulb situation and do more testing. Saved me a lot of frustration.

No problem, I am not really sure why it does it but I had a similar thing happen not to long ago.

steel wool the contacts

Stop whining about the 'ride' - If your YJ ain't wrangling your soul free, then might I suggest you buy a stationwagon... at least you can fit all your bull**** in the back.
