they are aftermarket. why not get mirrors from a tj? thats what i did. they mount using the bolts on the door's hinge, those three in the triangle shaped metal part on the door. work great and look great

and i guess i misremember how they mount. i had to drill some holes for the mirror

Yes, if the rig did not already have factory mirrors, then you will need to drill and tap for them into the door hinge. Pretty much a mirror image of the bolt pattern used on the hinge to mount the door. TJ mirrors '03plus are awesome. They mate up perfectly to the standard YJ mounts and don't change adjustment every time the door is closed.

Man, they are ugly. I'd blame them on the metric system or Bryan Adams.

If you swap out those mirrors, you're going to have a big ugly spot where they were mounted. I'd pull them off and see what the door looks like under the mirror.

I know in the 90s, jeep was selling YJs with just a driver side mirror. Maybe someone went to Canadian Tire and bought some craptastic mirrors.

that is the spot where the factory mirror on my laredo was mounted on the passenger side. same on the driver's side. luckily, when i bought it, someone had already filled and smoothed the holes from the old style mirrors and had replaced the driver's with a tj one. i put the passenger one on

If it was me, I would go with the newer TJ style mirror, and to fix your door, either paint it semi-gloss black in that indent (after filling the holes) or better yet, but the decal that fits that area. Jeep did have a smaller mirror that bolted onto that body in that area, but those were not the ones. Although... with Jeep, all things are possible!

Once I finish a little body work on my half doors and get them painted, I think I will pick up a set of the TJ style mirrors for the half doors and leave the old ones on my full doors.

The time now is 08:45 PM.
