1993 YJ Skid Plate Disaster **Please help!!**

My skid plate needed to be replaced because it rusted through and began to create problems. When removing the bolts, it was so rusted through that the bolts ripped a giant hole in the transmission mount in 2 places and now the transmission is lying on the ground.

I know it is illegal to weld on the chassis of a Jeep, bUT what can I do to repair this? I already have another skid plate, but the car won't move anywhere nor even shift into drive because the transmission is bent.

PLEASE HELP!!

Definitely going to need pics.

I can see how it might be illegal to weld a chassis in some places. Germany may be one of them. It certainly isn't illegal in Ohio. Where do you live?

Sound like you broke your tranny. Pix would be a big help.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f22/h...pforum-658070/ <<< how to post pix.

Bent transmission? Or bent shifter?
Hard to bend a transmission.

Manual tranny or auto? As stated pictures could help.

Toward the end of the post it says shift into drive. I think that's a clue.

Yep it does say drive! My brain translated that into "gear" so I had to reread the post only to see you are right. Ahem.
