1993 Jeep Sahara cluster connector

trying to diagnose why my speedometer is not working. want to check terminal 13 of the instrument cluster connector. but I'm not to sure how to unclip connector. I really don't want to break anything and I know I'm doing it wrong. I already removed the speed sensor connector. didn't get any voltage there and now need to check for continuity.

was able to get connector off. took instrument panel off and noticed some corrosion and belive this is the problem. a little leary about taking cable out and inspecting. was thinking of hardwiring. but unsure which of connector wires go to where. looks like I have 3 hard points to connect wire to on speedo. some pictures.

took off instrument panel today. took off speed/tach circuit ribbon. used a fiberglass pen and cleaned corrosion. noticed breack in the speedometer circuit and some other thining on sone other circuits. used a circit writer and filled in the gaps, dried with heatgun on low. reassembled and now works like a charm. this was all do to jeepforum, without the help of another members I would have never even would have attemped this repair. read, read and more read. great site.http://imgur.com/a/xp10d

just to update. the repaired ribbon worked for a while but it broke again. I searched on ebay for another cluster that was cheap and had a good ribbon. I didn't care how many miles was on the ebay cluster I just wanted the ribbon. Found one for $50.00 and bought it. switched it to mine and now I am good to go. A word of caution, if you have a water issue tackle that before you do this. My problem arose because of a bad windshield seal.
