Hey, I havent really posted in a while because of college and no access to my jeep. But i have been meaning to restore it for quite some time, pretty much since i bought it.

a little background on betty (my yj). I bought her at a local silent auction and bid $1906, i won the auction by 6 dollars. I had just turned 15 at the time and had been working at a local maple farm cleaning pig pens, splitting wood, and tapping trees for 4 dollars an hour to pay for her. after buying it i had a lot of maintenance i had to do to get it going. It had no top or doors, and was overall in kind of rough shape. it had a shackle lift and the 4.2L with some american racing rims. I put a 3.5 inch black diamond lift on it, kept the 1 inch shackle lift, i put in a SYE and a tom woods rear drive shaft. a top some doors, new ignition system, rebuilt my transfer case and a lot of other things.

Now onto the restoration. I have currently have about 400 hours into it. and still going strong. my goal is to finish it before i turn 20 on june 3rd.

What have you done about the holes rusted through the floor pan(s)?

nothing yet, i have a new floor pan to be welded in though, and i will be painting it then herculining the interior floor and the underside of the tub to ensure it doesnt happen again

Makes you really apprciate things when you pay for it yourself, and at $4 an hour.

It's really cool that your Dad works with you on it too. I love working on stuff with my Dad.

today we got the transmission/transfer case cleaned up and got the steering box/pump installed.

we also finished the tie rod end boots and the bushings for the sway bar. i have updated pictures that will go up tommorow
