1990 yj fuel problem

1990 4.2 with webber carb. seems to be running too rich! poor mileage, tried everything I can think of.
fuel cap develops pressure after I dr a mi or so. is this normal?

Politicians are like Diapers, they get full of stuff and need to be changed frequently!

I suppose that you have a vacuum building up in the tank. Check out your tank vent tube to the charcoal canister. If the button cap nipple were to be considered the #1 nipple the tank vent tube would the third. It should be a green flexible tube fitted with a rubber tube to that nipple.

Have you tried to dial in the screws to the recommended settings on the carb...and which one is it?

mileage is not going to be great with a 34 weber, i have one and am unimpressed with it. its definitely not a 32/36 or a 38. no power and horrible mileage, i feel.

the pressurization, i would check the tank vent
Slow ride, take it easy
