1990 2.5 Valve Cover Aluminum?

I have a '90 with the plastic valve cover. I recently replaced the gasket, but the cover is cracked in many places and is leaking bad. Can this be replaced with the later 91-95 aluminum style valve cover? I know i will have to re-run the pcv valve line, but i want to know if it will bolt down. Mine has a lot of blow by and it blows out of the crappy plastic oil fill cap. I would like the aluminum cover for the better screw on cap as well as the better ability to seal off. I am tired of smelling burnt oil, but i refuse to rebuild the engine as it runs just fine.

It bolts on perfectly, the engine are the same, only the accessories are different.

Edit: I'm not 100% positive if the screws are the same, the 91-95 might have a longer shank....

Will i have to convert the ccv system to pcv? Is that as simple as removing the existing grommet and putting in the pcv grommet?

No idea, I dropped the project at that point, hopefully you'll have more time than me to find the answer and will post it here so I can do the same!

I have one on the way. I will take a look at it when it gets here and see if it is possible. I will post on here if it works and solves the leaking problem. Thanks

Do you have an update? I'm considering replacing my plastic 90 2.5L YJ with a 91 style OEM aluminum one and wonder how hard it is to deal with the different crankcase ventilation system. I sure like the idea of a screw on oil fill cap over the leaky 1/4 turn style my 90 has.
