Any carb with 200,000 miles on it is in dire need of complete overhaul, not just some gaskets and a spray bomb of solvent.
Millions of them were sold and they powered American trucks billions of miles.l Mine was completely reworked 4 years ago, it has over 200,000 miles on it and is super reliable, better gas mileage than any 4.0 posted here that I have seen.
What ever you do, get it running in OEM condition first before you go scabbing after market parts on it. Otherwise you will not know if there is an underlying mechanical problem or just a mis-match of specs causing poor performance.
My problem is it was converted to fuel injection just found out while looking around I thought the carb was gone but I saw a fuel rail and I new!
So I have a bigger problem but I can do it I have to time for sure just need to buy it I'm going tonight to go negotiate
